Now is the Perfect Time to Upgrade
As Queensland manufacturers navigate rising energy costs and increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions, now is the perfect time to upgrade to energy-efficient technology. The Queensland Government’s Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Grant Program (MEEG) offers matched funding of $7,500 to $50,000 to help businesses adopt smarter, more sustainable solutions.
Lighting upgrades may be eligible for up to 100% of project costs. Applications for other eligible projects can seek funding of 75% of the project costs.
This $7.1 million program is part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan and also complements the state government’s Advanced Manufacturing 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan.
By integrating energy-efficient automation, manufacturers can lower their operational costs, reduce environmental impact, and improve productivity—making their operations future-ready for NetZero goals.
How Industrial Robotics Can Help
At Industrial Robotics, we go beyond supplying equipment—we specialize in customized automation solutions that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance. Here’s how we can support your transition to a low-energy, high-efficiency operation:
1️⃣ Smarter Material Handling with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
Replacing traditional forklifts with AMRs helps streamline internal logistics while significantly reducing energy waste. These intelligent robots:
✔ Navigate efficiently through factories and warehouses
✔ Reduce reliance on manual forklifts, lowering fuel and power consumption
✔ Improve workplace safety and reduce operational downtime
2️⃣ Advanced Energy-Efficient Robotic Welding
Traditional welding systems are energy-intensive and prone to inefficiencies. By upgrading to robotic welding systems, manufacturers can:
✔ Reduce power consumption while maintaining welding quality
✔ Automate processes for consistent and repeatable welds
✔ Lower material waste and improve throughput
3️⃣ High-Efficiency Conveyor & Machine Tending Automation
Inefficient conveyors and machine tending systems can drain power and slow down production. Industrial Robotics provides:
✔ Smart conveyor systems with optimized motor control for lower energy consumption
✔ Robotic machine tending that enhances precision and reduces idle energy use
4️⃣ Upgrading to High-Efficiency Motors
Older motors in compressors, pumps, mixers, and blowers often consume more power than necessary. By switching to high-efficiency motors, businesses can:
✔ Cut electricity costs and extend equipment lifespan
✔ Improve system performance while reducing carbon footprint
✔ Meet sustainability and energy efficiency targets
5️⃣ Implementing Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
VSDs are a game-changer in optimizing motor performance. These systems:
✔ Adjust motor speeds based on real-time demand
✔ Prevent excess energy consumption and reduce operating costs
✔ Enhance the lifespan of equipment by minimizing wear and tear
6️⃣ Replacing Outdated Machinery with Energy-Efficient Models
Industrial machinery that has been in operation for years may be costing more in energy than it should. Upgrading to modern, energy-efficient models can:
✔ Reduce overall energy use
✔ Improve processing speeds and output quality
✔ Ensure compliance with future NetZero carbon reduction targets
Why Act Now?
💡 NetZero mandates are coming. The shift toward carbon reduction and energy efficiency is accelerating. Investing in energy-efficient technology today not only reduces operating costs but also future-proofs businesses for sustainability regulations.
✅ Grant applications close 30 June 2025 or when funds are fully allocated—so don’t wait! If your business meets the eligibility criteria (QLD-based SME with 5-200 employees, operating for at least 12 months), this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss.
